Niflheim's plains of pure ice, chasms and treacherously windless environment are covered by an unnatural cold mist. A phenomena, of which only the most daring explorers have set foot on. And only by wearing a specialized protective gear, is there any hope of surviving it. Random caves offer a seeming protection, but also risk an exposure to another kind of danger, namely the region's flora & fauna. [2]

Niflheim Glacier is not only lethal by its environment, but by its local fauna and those that have learned to survive on the nature’s conditions. The largest of these predators is the Colossal Gryphon. The realm is apt in spreading various legends, such as feral canine tribes ja mythical “Guardians” alike.[3]
